| ALLEN "Pop" Calvin Eugene |
| May 27, 1938 - June 15, 2008 |
| |
Calvin passed away at Piedmont Medical Center on Sunday. He was owner and operator of Allen's Wrecker Service, which he founded in 1970. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
"Calvin was always there for his drivers, and was quick to teach them what it meant to be committed to the business. He showed us all what it means to live & love the towing industry, and his teaching and strength of character will live on in our hearts. Everyone in the towing business in and around our area has been guided by Calvin Allen in one way or another. We will miss him, and will never forget his lessons of life." |

| Daniel Hogg |
| |
On April 29th, 2008, good friend and employee Daniel Hogg was lost to another tragic roadside accident. Danny was loading a vehicle at mile marker 170 eastbound on I26 when he was struck by a passing box truck. His truck was positioned properly, well off in the emergency lane. Danny passed away several hours later as a result of the accident.
Davis Towing of Summerville, SC wishes to thank Scott Chambers at Affordable Towing of North Charleston, SC for handling the funeral procession. The procession can be viewed at TOW411.net thanks to Johnny Hill of Hill Wrecker in Moncks Corner, SC. It was good to see a tower and a friend remembered in a way Danny would truly appreciate.
Thanks again to all the towers that took time from their businesses, jobs and lives to say farewell. |

Mr. Kevin Butler died Sunday, December 6th, 2009 as a result of a multi-vehicle incident while he was preparing to load a disabled vehicle on I-77 near Cayce shortly before 4am. A local man faces several charges, including driving under the influence after his SUV hit a SC Highway Patrol cruiser that forced the disabled Honda into the tow truck where Kevin was working. The Lexington County sheriff's Dept. is still investigating.
Kevin worked for Wingard Towing & Blanchard Machinery, and he will be greatly missed by his family, co-workers & friends. |
